What is Hopi Ear Candling?
Hopi Ear Candling, also known as Thermo-auricular Therapy, is a completely natural therapy and has come to the Western world from the Native American Hopi Indians of Northern Arizona. This now popular therapy is known for its physical benefits in treating ear and sinus problems as well as other conditions.
The candle itself is made from natural ingredients – usually 100% beeswax, but sometimes with the addition of natural herbs or essential oils.
The procedure is comfortable and soothing. Recipients of the treatment often fall asleep, and it has a relaxing, calming effect on the whole body.
The candles work on a ‘chimney’ principle, drawing up impurities from within the ear. The rising air also has the effect of giving the ear drum a gentle, but pleasant massage which, in turn, helps to regulate pressure.
Who is this course for?
Anyone can do this course as there are no entry requirements, however, you will not be able to practice and use this qualification without an additional massage qualification such as any of our other Level 2 courses (for more info on this please contact us).
This course is ideal for existing massage or beauty therapists as it is quick and easy to learn and due to the growing popularity of the treatment, it is a profitable and welcome additional therapy to offer to existing and new clients.
This course is recognised by the ‘Federation of Holistic Therapists’ (FHT) for 10 CPPD points.
In order to qualify for FHT points or to add Hopi Ear Candling to an FHT insurance policy you must hold an accredited full body Massage qualification which is QCA regulated (i.e. VTCT, ITEC, NVQ or one recognised by the GCMT).

We allow a maximum intake of 6 students per Workshop
