We met 22 years ago at college in the Sports Therapy class. After gaining our Diplomas Gary went on to study nursing at Chester University and I studied additional therapies. I also studied at Chester University gaining a BA Hons Degree in Health and Community Studies. Gary got a job in orthopaedics at the Countess while I worked as a part-time therapist from home. We had 3 beautiful sons now aged 15, 17 and 19. I set up Greenhouse Therapies in 1998 and became a full time therapist.
Gary who has always been involved in sports to some degree volunteered at our sons handball club as a helper. He quickly became passionate about the sport and trained as a coach. He became a professional handball coach 3 years ago, teaching in schools and colleges. His dedication was rewarded when he won several coaching awards between 2009 and 2011 including 'National Childrens Coach of the Year'.
I gained a teaching qualification and assessors awards in 1999 and after teaching in FE colleges for a few years started teaching for a private college in Stockport where I have been teaching for 5 years. I have worked as a mobile therapist, in clinics, holistic centres, leisure centres and from my own premises but always dreamed of having my own centre where I could practice and teach from and also where I could invite other therapists to work alongside me who are as passionate about therapies as I am. That is when I found Parkgate Road.
When I needed to find someone to help me to run the centre,I didn't need look too far, Gary and I will be running the centre together - maybe with the help of one or two sons when they are not playing handball or studying. We think we will make a good team and look forward to welcoming you to our centre.
